Welcome spring! With the sunshine and warm weather comes spring cleaning. Many people focus their cleaning efforts on garages, basements, attics and even spare rooms in their homes. If your block walls have a white fuzz called “efflorescence”, you do not have to worry. The white fuzz is caused by too much exterior water finding its way into your home. Although that is not mold, it does mean there is too much humidity in the air, which can cause mold growth on paper or porous materials. If not checked it could spread into your HVAC unit, then through your whole house.
